Dårarnas båt - Boat of Fools
Nestled along Stockholm's waterfront, Dårarnas Båt (The Boat of Fools) is a striking bronze sculpture created by Swedish artist Sture Collin in 1992. The work depicts a group of peculiar, grotesque figures crowded together in a small boat, adrift without direction or purpose. Inspired by the medieval allegorical tradition — most famously Sebastian Brant's 1494 satirical poem Das Narrenschiff — the sculpture reflects on human folly, vanity, and self-deception. With dark humour and masterful craftsmanship, Collin invites passersby to contemplate their own foolishness. It remains one of Stockholm's most thought-provoking and memorable pieces of public art.
