Stockholm Central Station

Stockholm Central Station (Stockholms centralstation) is the largest and busiest railway station in Sweden, located in the Norrmalm district on Vasagatan in central Stockholm. Designed by architect Adolf W. Edelsvärd, the station opened on 18 July 1871. Its iconic grand central hall, measuring 119 metres in length, was added between 1925 and 1927 by architect Folke Zettervall after the tracks were relocated westward. In 1958, an underground passage connected the station to the adjacent metro hub T-Centralen. In 1986, the building was designated a protected cultural heritage site. Welcoming over 200,000 visitors daily, it serves long-distance, regional, and international rail services, and remains a defining landmark of the Swedish capital.
