Konstgjord Strand
Konstgjord strand (Swedish: Artificial Beach) is a small constructed bathing area located along the southern shoreline of Gamla Stan, facing Riddarfjärden. Created to offer city residents an accessible urban swimming spot, it consists of a sandy strip with ladders leading into the water of Lake Mälaren. Though modest in size, it is popular during Stockholm's summer months and offers views across the bay towards Södermalm and Mariaberget.
S:ta Gertruds Kapell
S:ta Gertruds kapell (Saint Gertrude's Chapel) is a historic chapel located in Gamla Stan, Stockholm, closely associated with the city's medieval German merchant community. Saint Gertrude of Nivelles, patron saint of travellers, lent her name to the chapel, which served the German-speaking population of the city before the construction of the larger Tyska kyrkan nearby.
Gamla Stan
Gamla Stan (Swedish: The Old Town) is the medieval island city centre of Stockholm, Sweden, situated on the island of Stadsholmen. Dating from the 13th century, it is one of the best-preserved medieval city centres in Europe. Its narrow cobblestone streets, colourful merchant houses, and historic churches draw millions of visitors annually. The area is home to Stockholm Palace, the Riksdag, Storkyrkan cathedral, and numerous museums. The oldest recorded mention of a settlement on the island dates to 1252, associated with the statesman Birger Jarl.
