Seine

The Seine is a 776 km long river and an important commercial waterway within the Paris Basin in the north of France. It rises at Source-Seine, 30 meters northwest of Dijon in northeastern France in the Langres plateau, flowing through Paris and into the English Channel at Le Havre (and Honfleur on the left bank). It is navigable by ocean-going vessels as far as Rouen, 120 km (75 mi) from the sea. Over 60% of its length, as far as Burgundy, is negotiable by commercial riverboats and nearly its whole length is available for recreational boating; excursion boats offer sightseeing tours of the Rive Droite and Rive Gauche within the city of Paris. Statue of Liberty
Statue of Liberty

Inaugurated on July 4, 1889, it looks southwest, downriver along the Seine. Its tablet bears two dates: "IV JUILLET 1776" (July 4, 1776: the United States Declaration of Independence) like the New York statue, and "XIV JUILLET 1789" (July 14, 1789: the storming of the Bastille). This statue is shown in the movie National Treasure: Book of Secrets as one of the historic locations. (Wiki)

Île aux Cygnes
Île aux Cygnes

Île aux Cygnes (English: Isle of the Swans) is a small artificial island in the Seine in Paris, France, located in the 15th and 16th arrondissement. It is an artificially created island, formed in 1827 to protect the port of Grenelle. It should not be confused with an earlier Île des Cygnes which was attached to the Champ de Mars in the late 18th century. (Wiki)

The Maison de la Radio

Radio France has its headquarters at the Maison de la Radio, a circular building designed by the architect Henri Bernard and inaugurated in December 1963 by President Charles de Gaulle, which stands beside the River Seine in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. In addition to housing Radio France's central services and the studios of several of its channels, the building is home to the Musée de Radio France: a museum of radio and television broadcasting and recording techniques. Pont Mirabeau
Pont Mirabeau

The pont Mirabeau was built between 1895 and 1897. It was listed a historical monument in 1975. The decision to create a new bridge to the right of the junction created by avenue de Versailles and rue Mirabeau, was taken by the French President Sadi Carnot on 12 January 1893. The bridge was designed by the engineer Paul Rabel, responsible for the bridges of Paris, assisted by the engineers Jean Résal and Amédée d'Alby, and built by Daydé & Pillé. (Wiki)

Pont du Garigliano
Pont du Garigliano

From 1863 to 1962, the two-level stone viaduc d'Auteuil (or viaduc du Point-du-Jour) ran across the river at this point, carrying Petite Ceinture trains on its upper level and car traffic on its lower level. When car transport increased on the Boulevards des Maréchaux, and since the arches of the existing structure were too low to be passed under by river traffic, it was decided to replace it. Construction began in 1963 under the architect Davy and the engineer Thenault, and the new structure was inaugurated on 1 September 1966. The present structure is named after General Juin's victory at the Battle of Garigliano in Italy in 1944. (Wiki)
