Strandvägen, Hedvig Eleonora kyrka

Hedvig Eleonora kyrka is a striking baroque church in the Östermalm district of Stockholm, Sweden. Construction began in 1669 and the church was named after Queen Hedvig Eleonora, consort of King Karl X Gustav. The building took well over a century to complete, with its distinctive copper-clad dome finally finished in 1868. The interior is richly decorated with ornate woodwork, paintings, and a grand organ. The church serves as the parish church for one of Stockholm's most affluent neighbourhoods and remains an active place of worship today. It is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Swedish ecclesiastical architecture.
