Colombo Sunset, Laccadive Sea 1979
The Laccadive Sea, also known as the Lakshadweep Sea, borders India (including Lakshadweep), the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. It lies southwest of Karnataka, west of Kerala, and south of Tamil Nadu. The warm sea maintains a consistent temperature year-round and is abundant in marine life, with the Gulf of Mannar home to around 3,600 species. Major cities along its shores include Mangaluru, Kasaragod, Kochi, Colombo, and Malé. The southernmost point of India, Kanyakumari, also borders this sea.
