Luna Park, Coney Island, Brooklyn
Luna Park, located in Coney Island, Brooklyn, opened on May 29, 2010, on the former site of Astroland. It was named after the original Luna Park from 1903 and features 19 new attractions and interactive games. Developed by Central Amusement International (CAI), a subsidiary of Italian company Zamperla, the park incorporates several rides from Astroland, including the landmark Cyclone roller coaster. The park operates on a cashless system, using Luna Cards for ride credits. In 2018, an expansion plan was announced, including new rides like the Super Flume log ride and a zip-line. However, construction was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, with new rides opening in 2023.
