One Vanderbilt
One Vanderbilt is a skyscraper located in New York City. It is located at the corner of 42nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, across from Grand Central Terminal. The building was designed by the architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox and was completed in 2020. It stands at 427 meters (1,401 feet) tall, making it one of the tallest buildings in New York City and the tallest office building in Midtown.
One Vanderbilt features a sleek, modern design, with a façade made of glass and steel. The building has a total of 57 floors, with 2.6 million square feet of office space, and it was designed to be highly energy efficient. The building also has a public plaza that spans the block between 42nd and 43rd Streets. The building features a rooftop terrace, a fitness center and a conference center, among other amenities for tenants.
One Vanderbilt is a prominent addition to the New York City skyline, it is also a significant improvement to the transportation infrastructure of Midtown Manhattan, as part of the deal of building the tower the developer made with the city, they financed and built a new subway entrance and station to the subway station located in the underground of the building, which makes it more accessible to commuters.
The building is owned by SL Green Realty Corp, a New York-based real estate investment trust, it is considered a major development of the city and one of the most expensive and prestigious office building in the city.
