Lebowski Bar, Reykjavik
Lebowski Bar is a themed bar located in central Reykjavík, Iceland. Opened in 2014, the venue is inspired by the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski, directed by the Coen brothers. The bar takes its name and visual identity from the film’s protagonist, Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, and incorporates references to characters, quotes, and motifs from the movie throughout its interior design and menu.
The Lebowski Bar is particularly known for its extensive selection of White Russian cocktails, a drink closely associated with the film, offered in numerous variations. In addition to cocktails, the bar serves beer, wine, and casual American-style food, including burgers and hot dogs. Music at the venue typically includes rock and pop from the late 20th century, reflecting the film’s aesthetic. Located on Laugavegur, Reykjavík’s main shopping and nightlife street, the Lebowski Bar has become a popular destination for both tourists and local patrons.
