Homeless Fox Statue / Hemlös räv
Homeless Fox / Hemlös räv is a bronze sculpture depicting a fox and its cub wrapped in an old brown blanket, possibly hoping for help from passersby. Stockholm Konst and Situation Sthlm let residents vote for its location, with Drottninggatan winning over Slussen in 2009. The statue now stands at the intersection of Drottninggatan and Strömgatan, near Sweden’s political centers—symbolizing the contrast between power and poverty. Created by British artist Laura Ford, born in 1961, the piece belongs to her Rag and Bone series, portraying forest animals as homeless. It was acquired in 2008 as part of Stockholm’s public art collection.
