FDR Drive - Lower Manhattan
The Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive, often referred to as the FDR Drive, is a controlled-access parkway located on the eastern side of Manhattan in New York City. It begins near South and Broad Streets, just north of the Battery Park Underpass, and extends north along the East River to the interchange with 125th Street, where it transitions into Harlem River Drive. The entire length of the FDR Drive is classified as New York State Route 907L (NY 907L), an unsigned reference route. The parkway consists of a combination of below-grade, at-grade, and elevated sections, including three partially covered tunnels. Generally, it features three lanes in each direction, although there are a few exceptions. By regulation, the weight limit on the FDR Drive from 23rd Street to Harlem River Drive is set at 8,000 pounds (3,600 kg) in both directions, and all commercial vehicles, including trucks, are prohibited from using the FDR Drive north of exit 1.
